Sonamarg Activities Guide: Thajiwas Pony & Zero Point Union Cabs
Thajiwas and Zero Point need different arrangements. Thajiwas is commonly approached on a permitted walking or pony route; Zero Point is a road excursion towards Zoji La. Choose the experience you want before comparing prices.
Thajiwas pony requests
Agree the pony stand, endpoint, return arrangement and waiting allowance. A ride towards Thajiwas does not guarantee access onto a glacier or include every optional local viewpoint. Follow the designated route and the operator’s instructions.
Zero Point by local union cab
The vehicle type, agreed sightseeing stops and road-opening window affect the trip. Ask for the full route in writing: some online packages combine Zero Point with other stops, while others describe only a return to one point. Do not compare a small-car quote with an Innova quote as if they were the same product.
Request vehicle-specific Zero Point availability and price
Why these fares need reconfirmation
The Sonamarg taxi stand’s published rate list and a current operator’s published list show different amounts for some of the same vehicle routes. That conflict was identified during the 25 October 2026 source check. Rayvia therefore requests the exact current fare rather than presenting a disputed number as guaranteed.
Road and weather conditions
Access towards Zoji La is controlled by current road and traffic conditions. Do not treat a previously open date, a clear forecast or an accepted request as clearance for the road. Rayvia confirms the operating plan with the local service before confirmation.
Trekking and camping are separate trips
The official Sonamarg destination page describes trekking and camping as well as pony experiences. A multi-day trek needs its own itinerary, permits where applicable, guide, equipment and overnight arrangements. A day’s pony or cab request includes none of these unless stated.
What to send with your enquiry
Send the travel date, number of adults and children, preferred activity, requested vehicle and whether you need a pickup from outside Sonamarg. Rayvia will distinguish the local activity from your Srinagar transfer so the quote is easier to understand.
Booking, closures and refunds
Rayvia manages activity requests directly. Choose a date and option, provide the lead guest’s contact details and participant ages, and wait for the Rayvia team to confirm the operating status and operator. Named tickets, including Gondola tickets, require each passenger’s details. Tour-package child discounts do not automatically apply to standalone activities.
Temporary closures remain visible on the activity page. A stated reopening date is an expected date, subject to local operating approval. Closed dates cannot be booked. If an unconfirmed activity cannot be arranged, the amount collected for that unavailable activity, including Rayvia’s fee, is refundable. Read the written confirmation and cancellation policy before travel.
